Members of the Louisiana Arson & Fire Prevention Association:

It has been a week since the 2008 LA&FPA Conference and I wanted to thank Past President Charles Stephens, the Board members, and all the people from the Port Allen area for the outstanding conference.  It was the first conference I can remember where the local departments provide meals for all three days.  The speakers were very knowledgeable.

On Saturday, June 14, 2008, the membership accepted the invitation of the Terrebonne Parish Fire Chiefs Association to hold the 2009 conference in Houma, Louisiana .  Within the next 30 days, I will contact the Board members and set a date to visit the Houma area and survey available hotels for the conference site.

If any member has any ideas for a regional training class to be held between now and the end of September, please contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Sincerely,
